Mehrangarh Fort: Rich Heritage, Amazing Architecture

   The architecture of Mehrangarh Fort should be called amazing and unique. The reason is that the carving of the fort is very visible. 

   It is special that due to its uniqueness, Mehrangarh Fort has a global reputation. Mehrangarh Fort is a very large structure located in the Jodhpur city of Rajasthan, province of India. There is something very special in this spectacular fort. Situated at a height of 150 meters on a rocky rock, this fort was built in the 15th century. 
   This divine-grand fort has eight entrances, numerous bastions and a wall about ten kilometers long and high. This fort is considered to be very impregnable with these structures. Four entrances to this fort are connected by winding roads. It is special that Mehrangarh 
   Fort has many magnificent palaces, amazing carved doors, carved-latticed windows etc. Among them are Moti Mahal, Phool Mahal, Sheesh Mahal, Sileh Khana and Daulatkhana etc. 
  The stunning collection of furnishings of Indian royalty in these magnificent palaces and museums is highly visible. Moti Mahal is also known and recognized as Pearl Mahal. It is the largest palace of Mehrangarh Fort. 
   Maharaja Sur Singh used to meet his subjects in this palace. Tourists can also see the Srinagar outpost and the royal throne of Jodhpur here. Phool Mahal was the private palace of the king. 
  It is known and recognized as a palace of flowers. Sheesh Mahal is a splendid palace decorated with the work of beautiful mirrors. Decoration of religious figures can be seen in the Sheesh Mahal. 
   The Mehrangarh Fort Museum is very rich. The majestic palanquins, elephant cisterns, frescoes and miniature paintings of various styles, musical instruments, royal and general costumes, war arms and majestic furniture etc. are very visible in the museum. The museum has 14 spacious chambers. 
   Particularly, Mehrangarh Fort is one of the most ancient forts in India. The Mehrangarh Fort is also a symbol of India's rich past. This divine grand fort was built by Rao Jodha, the ruler of the Jodhpur dynasty. Rao Jodha laid the foundation for the construction of this fort on 12 May 1459.
   However Maharaja Jaswant Singh completed the construction of this fort in 1678. Maharaja Rao Jodha had immense reverence in Chamunda Mata. 
  Hence, the Maharaja built the divine-grand temple of Mata Chamunda near the Mehrangarh Fort. It is believed that Chamunda Devi is the Kuldevi of Jodhpur rulers. 
   This divine-grand temple was built in 1460 by Maharaja Rao Jodha. Folk artists are seen welcoming tourists with folk music as they go ahead to see Chamunda Devi. 
  This tradition gives folk music of Rajasthan a vibrancy and grandeur. Mehrangarh Fort, located about 5 km from Jodhpur city, is the pride and glory of Rajasthan. 
   This fort made of red sandstone is also known for its amazing fine mesh windows. The special thing is that the palaces of Mehrangarh Fort have their own distinct feature. Not only this, Mehrangarh Fort was also known for its impressive weapons store. 
   There is a warrior Kirat Singh Soda memorial near the Mehrangarh Fort. The umbrella-shaped pavilion expresses the rich culture and ideal of the Rajputs. Tourists from all over the world visit this very rich heritage of India.
