   Later it was converted into a government sanctuary. Spread over an area of ​​640 square kilometers, this magnificent sanctuary is actually part of the Deccan Plateau. The Nagarhole River is the main attraction of this sanctuary. It can also be called the lifeline of the wildlife of the sanctuary. 
  The Nagarhole River further merges into the Kabini River. Due to the dam built on this river, a huge lake has taken shape in a part of the Nagarhole Wildlife Sanctuary. One direction of this lake is the Bandipur Tiger Reserve. 
   According to experts, it was given the shape of a government sanctuary in the year 1955 after the princely period. It is special that in the year 1999 it was declared as the 37th Tiger Reserve of the country. 
   Apart from Asian elephants, Nagarhole Wildlife Sanctuary has bears, leopards, tigers, wild dogs, wild boar, sambar, four-horned deer, spotted deer, barking deer etc. There are also lions and black deer in this sanctuary.
   Enjoy the Safari: Tourists can enjoy the safari in the Nagarhole Wildlife Sanctuary. Safari is a thrilling experience to watch wild animal birds closely. Particularly, in safari, tourists can visit only a certain border area.
   Brahmagiri Sanctuary: If tourists visit Nagarhole Wildlife Sanctuary, one must also get an exciting experience of Brahmagiri Sanctuary nearby. The Brahmagiri Sanctuary spread over an area of ​​about 181 square kilometers is situated between Kutta and Makutta.
